"I, Andrea, of Obsessive Creativeness, pledge to end the year with no more fabric in my personal stash than I started with"
So, I was aiming for a breakeven position with my stash. I made myself a little spreadsheet to track incoming and outgoing, and printed out some pages so I could just grab my folder and write everything down as it happened, without needing to wait until I had the computer on.
This year for stashbusting, we had guest hosts for each month, and I hosted May with the theme of lingerie. I tried my hardest to sew at least one item each month that was on theme, but for most months that had school holidays I wasn't always able to do this.
My totals for the year were
Fabric intake ........ 56.2 m
Outgoings ............ 58.49 m
Meaning, I did it! I managed to sew up at least as much as came into my stash for the year. It was touch and go for a while, as I did not get to some of my planned sewing for the year which would have easily taken me past my goals. At least if I do get them done in 2016 it will be a boost for my new year's stats.
Here's the year as it was:
January - theme Renewing Sewing
In: (too much) 34.4m
I paid a visit to the Fabric Cave, and bought 24.4 metres of this in one hit. At least that gave me a number to aim at sewing for the year. The good news is that I have sewn up quite a bit of this.
Long line black bra - on theme finishing up a bra after many weeks break
Cream and blue lace bra
Two tank tops
Partial Band Bra
Yohji Yamamoto Jacket - on theme make using a pattern I had previously downloaded and not sewn up yet
Island shopping in Rarotonga - my shopping was even on theme this month!
Duchess Satin Bra
Alabama Chanin style dress
Holiday Sun Dress - on theme make from a bright floral print bought earlier in the month
White Slip and Bra - on theme
Second White Bra - on theme
Quilt Cover and pillowslips
Moto Jacket - on theme make
Long Sleeve T-Shirt - on theme make
Brown curtains (unblogged)
With school holidays taking up half the month, and the other half catching up on work, I didn't manage to sew anything for myself at all! Boo! On the plus side though, I didn't buy anything either.
August - theme Face Your Fears
Swimsuit - on theme make using my feared fabric lycra
Book Week Costumes (unblogged)
In: 8.2m (mainly fabric bought on holidays in Singapore)
Broderie Anglaise top - seasonal change
Blue and White Lace and Satin Bra
Bamboo Shoot top - seasonal change
Nothing on theme this month I'm afraid, but I did squeeze in some lingerie sewing
